Fortune Telling In Santa Fe
On a whim, I had my tarot cards read by a fortune teller in Santa Fe. A loud funny woman with a strong New York accent and dyed black hair. The following is the complete transcript of her predictions.

Hahaha! I just got excited for you. That’s why I love what I do. I just got so excited for you, it’s like, this is what I do. I walk with the people that come to my table. They are the ones that are meant to be here because I prayed this morning. Every morning I do this work.
FORTUNE TELLER directs her attention to a couple walking by.

Hi, guys you have any questions I’m doin’ readings if you want. I’m about to do one for her. I’m pretty good. I’ve been doing it for a while. I don’t know if you were interested, I saw you before. Just wanted to say ‘hi’ yea. Ok haha. Ok so let me just do this one more thing. What’s your name?

My parents are from South Africa so it’s a pretty common name there.

My mother was pregnant with me when they moved here. So my older sister was born there, but I was born in the states.

So that’s the pile with your answers and this is a ten card spread that talks about what’s going on with you right now. You’ve got a lot of anxiety right now. Of course you do you’re traveling now. So you have a lot of anxiety that’s causing you to not be sure. Just that anxiety effects our central nervous system. It affects our breath of light. It affects our way of thinking, and it's like a black cloud that’s kind of hanging over us.
It’s a lot of fear. It what it is. And that fear comes from insecurity and that insecurity is not real. So the good thing about this is it’s just you buggin’ out. Yea, I know it’s a pretty good card to get because it's just your trippin’ out. Not really gonna happen. So whenever I get that card and I get that card a lot, I just... everytime I was pulling cards, I was getting this card because I was in a constant state of anxiety over what was going on and I wasn't learning how to just let go. Like ok just fuck it, I don’t know what I’m doing, I’m confused this doesn't feel good. I don't know what feels good. Just try and drop into yourself, minus what your thinking, and ask yourself this one question.
Am I ok in this very moment? Am I safe? Are all of my needs being taken care of? Am I warm? Am I fed? Am I hungry do I need to get something to eat? I want you to check in with your personal self right now and you ask yourself these questions. So that you can make this anxiety go away.
And the more that you start to see that your needs are taken care of. That right now you’re in Santa Fe, New Mexico talking to a woman who empowers women, and you have a best friend right around the corner that’s waiting for you to jump into a spa.
Right?! Haha! I know, I know! Because really in real life we could talk about what’s happening to those people in Syria, or those standing down in Standing Rock, or those people that are in the streets of New York City with no money and no food. You need to bring yourself to those thoughts so you can alleviate your pain and suffering. You need to know how well taken care of you are, in the very present moment instead of getting away in your head to the future or what happened in the past.
It is necessary in order evolve and grow that you get into your breath right now. Nothing fucking else matters. Truly living is living in this moment. Is being right here with me right now. Is being right here, knowing how you feel sitting in this chair the wind against your wrists, and knowing that you’re safe. If you ask yourself a question like that and you don’t feel safe, then ask yourself what you need to do to make yourself safe. If you didn’t feel safe in a room because all these people were psychically attacking you, in other words, you get into a room, and you know those girls are kind of mad dogging you, but like are they? But like it feels that way?
THEY ARE! They are. They fucking are. You know, but we are so trained to think that it’s us right? We never confront those women because it’s just us, but that’s what I’m asking, like if you don’t feel safe in that room, and you feel like you're getting tripped out by these women, you are.
Don’t question it anymore. You are. Get the fuck out of there. If these women have anything to do with who you are and what you do every fuckin day then it’s your job to do what your friend is going to do and sit them down and confront them. In a diplomatic way with ease and grace. So in other words, we have to pick all of our fuckin’ battles and if somebody isn’t vibing with you, it’s your job to take yourself out of it.

If you can’t take yourself out of the situation and it’s part of your life then you need to deal with it. So either way, you're not bugging out everything you feel is real. Your very empathic, you pick up a lot. You need to pay attention to that because that's the way that you are governed to take care of yourself now. Some people walk into rooms and they can pick up on feelings really easy. They are called empaths. Have you heard that word before? Have you ever figured that you might be like that?

Sense of feelings, yea. When you walk into a room you can, like, feel what’s going on you have a pretty good sense of it. It’s a gift. Do you know that not everybody has that gift?

I guess, I never think of it as something special or different.

I know, I know, and I’m just pointing this out to you so that you understand you better. That it makes a little more sense to you when something's working for you or not working for you. So that you don’t internalize it and think that there’s something wrong with you.
What i'm trying to do here right now is asking Archangel Michael to remove those blocks. That make you think that it’s ever you. So that Archangel Michael might start talking to you now and noticing when you start to pick up those feelings that he might be like ‘hey it ain't you remember?’
And what do you need to do right now to take of you? So you can govern your life a little bit better with a lot less anxiety. Just knowing how to be in the present moment right now for yourself.

So what California is really good for is, I come from the East Coast as well, is that everybody is a lot more laid back, so they're not so uptight. It’s gonna be a lot more relaxed and you’re not gonna feel the edge so much, you were feeling before, and that’s gonna make you feel a lot more relaxed and be able to enjoy life.
You're gonna have like real moments, it almost makes me want to cry. You’re gonna have some really good tender moments that is gonna be like, I deserve this. Like we deserve this, we deserve good friendship, good times. He’s gonna really appreciate you coming in because being in LA, as great as it all is, there’s nothing like having your best friends come live with you. And how do I know that, because when I moved to LA I had six of my childhood friends come live with me, and we fucking had the time. That’s why it almost makes me want to cry because I experienced it already.
I know what you’re about to experience because we did it. We were amazed that we were even seeing this because we used to all do drugs together and smoke crack and be shit heads and then we were living in LA, completely sober and going on boats and going fishing and doing all the healthy outdoors thing and that’s what you're going to be connecting with, a lot out there, is a lot of nature. I mean, most of what you’re gonna learn is by being on the vortex of the ocean, going on hikes, are you a hiker?

Uh, well I am starting this new healthy, nature invested, hiking, lifestyle.

Yea, I see it. Like Whoa! That’s why I see you out in LA. They are the number one in green and sustainability and you’re going to learn a lot about that. Like the business that I do, like these Conscience Festivals. They are booming out there and if you stay connected with me, I can introduce you to people. If there’s any interest that you have in say learning how to make Kombucha or being in an apothecary program, learning how to make essential oils of flower essences, or making jewelry, you can vend at any of these community festivals. And let me tell you something right now, I’m a vender, and I’m a visionary, and I’m a head promoter in the United States. That’s why it's very rare to see me here, cause you have no idea what I usually do. But I’m everywhere and the reason why I am here, is because I bring it to the people in between. So I’m always working because I’m working for my business as well doing things like raise consciousness.

Yea I’ve heard a lot of people who’ve had Crohn’s recently. A lot of people.

So, I’ve started a blog about what I’m eating and traveling out west.

How does Crohn’s affect you?
RO
Me personally, I get GI problems. Like kind of runny stomach, bloated, pain, fatigue, all of that. But I’ve been pretty asymptomatic lately.

Qigong. Have you ever done Qigong?
RO
No, what’s that?
FORTUNE TELLER
Ok so it’ not like yoga, but it's kind of like... it’s based on the five elements and it’s uh, they just move and they are moving, very subtle movements. They are just moving their energy. Just moving their arms, touching their body, they are tapping. What they are doing is they are realigning their central nervous system. Basically, they are balancing out their yin and their yang. Many people are healing themselves through a thing called emotional freedom tapping.

Even though I have Crohn’s disease, I feel good today. I love myself and I accept myself, just the way that I am and I am ok. Even though I have Crohn’s Disease, see this is an acupuncture that I’m doing. Then you go here and then you go here and then the adrenalynn. The words that I’m using is that I’m reprogramming my central nervous system, and I’m rewiring my brain. If you don’t want to have Crohn’s Disease anymore it’s highly essential that you know at this very moment you can get rid of it.
RO looks politely skeptical.

That you can heal from it. I have absolutely one hundred percent confidence in what I’m saying right now. I know that you can cure yourself from this disease. It will be by the mission that you go on in California. By the way that you study nutrition. The way that we are going to heal ourselves and the planet and raise consciousness is by the food that we eat. No GMOS, water. How alkaline is your water? When you drink water in the morning the first thing that you do in the morning, it should be water. But you can put lemon in your water all day long and ginger that two things are, like garlic and rosemary and thyme, are the top nutritional herbs that can heal the body. And these are old folk tales and remedies from the beginning of time. And if you drink that first glass of water in the morning, the very first thing that you do is say, “I am healing myself from Crohn’s disease, thank you.”
Drinking water is gonna realign your body with the intention that you place in the water. Now this is alchemy, what I'm telling you right now. This is what shamans and healers based on body work, this is what we learn. Like when you go to those great movies, there’s a movie out there called, “Dr. Strange” GO SEE DR. STRANGE! And then understand that this alchemy that I’m talking about is present to many indigenous cultures around the globe and that you can actually heal yourself with food. And movement. But you have to reprogram your mind, by giving it a new intention of what it’s gonna do for you. Since you are ailing with something right now.
Ok you can accept that you have Crohn’s disease right now, that’s fine. But also work with your body. Ask your body everyday what food do you want? I use a pendulum and and I go to super markets and I ask the pendulum, should I buy this romaine lettuce is it good for me? It might say no this spinach is better for me. And I went home and I ate the spinach and it gave me exactly the nutrients I need. I didn’t need the romaine I needed the spinach.

This might sound crazy to you, but I travel around the country and a lot of these healers are asking the food, what do I need to eat? And they are healing themselves from all kinds of diseases. And the biggest thing I know people are healing themselves with is Qigong because it literally realigns your whole body. It reprograms your body and brings it into balance. The feminine energies and the masculine energies. And based on how you were raised by your parents, you are programmed to have a certain belief system and all those insecurities, and all that shit family dynamics, the way that we relate to others, it all comes from the way that we were raised. So nutrition and food and the movement are the ways that we are realigning our bodies an reprogramming our bodies.

Um so this card, that was talking about your childhood, this is the King of Hearts. Which is like a strong man that is of the heart. The Ace of Swords is talking about a new beginning happening and, again, the sword has come through the illusions of all of that. In the springtime is when it’s going to actually come to fruition. If you’re making the move right now, so just so you know, the astrology is a little weird until January 26th. They say sometimes not to move around when mercury is in retrograde. So you're doing it during Mercury in Retrograde, but you’re not going to not move because of that.
You’re going to move anyway. So what I’m going tell you right now is going to save the day! Before you fuckin’ leave, make sure you packed and checked and you double checked. Make sure you check your house and what you’re leaving behind three times, make sure you have your directions written out and on the GPS, don’t depend on the GPS. Also, have flashlights and cell phones and ways to communicate. Have your trip planned out. Where you are gonna stay. Do not leave this up to good faith on the road, during mercury in retrograde.

There might be some people that are controlling your money or vise versa and some people might be stingy. But what you need to be concerned with, is how to govern your money and not be too concerned with how people are governing their money.
Make sure you have enough money for you and your needs and don’t let anybody be in control of your money when you get there. Make sure that you are in control of your money. If there are parents that are holding onto to money, you know, you want more freedom than you’ve ever had in your life. You know what you need to do because you have the opportunity right now to manage your own finances. And you're gonna do really well at it. And you’re gonna do really well at it. It’s your time to be out on your own and do your own way. You’re fighting for your own way, and you’re going to get it. You’re taking a bold move to go into the future and it's really gonna serve you well. Even if this is not the greatest time to travel. Who gives a flying fuck? You know you gotta go right now. Yea, we did this last year too. We are trying to do this at least every two years. Meet up somewhere around the holidays.

Yea she’s a solid for you and vise versa. You guys have a good friendship for each other. That’s why I was saying nurture each other. It’s a really good balance and I think you're moving to California is going to enrichen your friendship all the way around the board. Many people are going to look at you and like, be proud of you for what you do.

The High Priestess card is talking about what you have the ability to do right now, which is very intuned. You’re very intuned. You have the ability to be an alchemist, whether you believe it or not. You're going to start to know. When you get to California, you're gonna know the spiritual energy over there is fucking high vibes. So it's like, get on board or get the fuck out of here. You know what I’m saying and you’re going to get on board. Cause you’re already on board. You're already a good person, you're already on board.
You're already wanting to move forward in this direction of nutrition and hiking and that, what you said is the way forward in life, period. It is the happy card for everyone. So you're already on board all you need to do it make a couple of adjustments with what you might see at first which is, you might see a lot of superficiality, but then you're gonna see, like, the locals and you’re going to make your determination of what’s what. Just be open to that. There’s that and there’s that. There is such a spiritual community, and we are all connected, and it’s really going to give you the ability to know that, at any moment you can have something, you can. You just have to put your mind to it and a lot less worrying about it.
So anytime you’re worrying, it’s just because you're not in the present moment. So anytime you're worrying just take a note, “Oh I’m not in the present moment. Oh let me get back to my breath. Let me get back to how comfortable I am in this moment and know ‘oh’ I’m ok.” Just start thinking happy thoughts about who you are. You start complimenting yourself a little more. Start taking credit for who you are. Start to own that shit a little more. You know, like, you’re modest. I’m not, like, in general. I’m just like “Blahhhh” and you’re like “meowwwww” and everybody will just love you, you know? And in California you're going to be able to make more of a stance towards knowing who you are. I really believe that.

The King of Pentacles is a job opportunity that will come to you in California. Somebody is going to offer you a job and not just a little job. That’s the King of Coins. That's abundance and prosperity and because you do have what it takes to run any business, you have integrity, and it’s a rare thing to have, it's a rare thing to have fuckers, there’s people out there and then there’s people, but you're one of the good people. And the good people, by the way, remember that all those good people are gonna hit the lottery this year.
2017 is going to serve to be a really prosperous year for you. One that you’re going to be actually, really happy. There’s lush land, it's beautiful you’re even going to like the environment that you’re in. It’s not going to be just any job, it’s going to be a job that will bring bounty and not just prosperity, but it's going to give meaning to your life. He’s going to be very successful and he also has an eye for, like, he has a way to go above everybody and see what everybody’s talents are and he knows how to put you in orchestra.
And he knows what talents you have that need to get refined and he will be the wind beneath your wings. You’re gonna have to lay it out. I want you to know if you get this job and you like it, I want you know something, you’re going to have to speak up. If you want to go further, so let people always know. Don’t be too quick. Wait the first thirty days before taking that action of going forward, and you allow everyone to get to know you and you allow them to get to know you in that period. When that period fucking comes man, you’re fucking full flow.
You’re like “Hey I really like it here and anyway that I can move up or be a bigger part of this. I really like that department and this department and that department. If you ever want to send me to school.”
You gotta put it out to them and, by the way, make sure you remember this about life in general, if you ever see anything that you want to be a part of, in general, don’t question whether you can do it or not, unless you ask the people in power that put you in that position, you’ll never know. People can’t read minds.
So just know that you are part of co-creating and being an alchemist. You're gonna create your own life now. You're gonna know, that you can have whatever it is that you want. Whatever you think, can manifest. Anytime you go out of your box of comfort and put yourself out on the line in taking a chance and every time you go out and take a chance and trust the Great Spirit however that’s gonna come to you, is the way. And trust in that you are gonna be givin so much.
It’s about finding that balance not about ‘oh because I went to California I am expecting that job and I need to get that job.’ No, it's more like finding the flow. I’m going to California, I’m putting my ass on the line. Is it going to work? It worked! Ok, I’m gonna put my ass on the line and apply for that job. Oh my god it worked! Oh my god, I really like that job, and I really want to go further and I want that job if that ever opens up. And you're going to be able to speak to those people and you’re going to be able to move in that direction.
Women like you and your friend, your age group there are scholarships out there in every single form and fashion, so anything you would like to do and working with women, and people, and nutrition, since you have Crohn’s disease. The thing that comes to me just right off the top is that you’d be able to write blogs about that that can turn into a business, that can turn into a remedy, a holistic approach to Crohn’s Disease.
That’s what’s coming and I’m a channel and they are channeling this me. They are telling me that you can actually… this could be your angle, this could be your… fuck this could be a big angle. By the way this is not a little angle, it’s a huge angle, and that’s why I know you can heal yourself. The women I know from New York that had stage four cancer are living nine years later. Crazy, Sexy, Cancer by Chris Carr. You wanna be inspired by women who took a disease and made a fortune out of it? And not for the money, but she became a world renowned keynote speaker. She’s from New York, had stage four cancer, dying’ ahhhhhhhh’ and turned everything around with nutrition. And that’s why I’m telling you, what I’m telling you with nutrition because I never had cancer, but I’m a healer and somebody made me watch that because my mom died of leukemia, so that when I give a reading I can tell people, you ain’t gonna die of nothing’ go get this fucking book go get Crazy, Sexy, Cancer it’s a DVD and Chris Carr has a journey where she comes to New Mexico at one point in her healing. They have Tarrah Garden on Antennas Street and Neda’s in there, go see her. She does flower essences and she also does polarity work. Um, Gustav who was like a metaphysical, shaman, wizard, god just died, but everybody who works at Sacred Stone Gallery is just wonderful to go talk to.
There’s a spiritual community there, so those two stores I just said, you go in them and they are right where all the restaurants and everything is, and they have a place called Sooth your Soul which is a huge metaphysical shop, that you can buy anything you want in life, and they have a bead store where you can get crystals and beads. You want to see what they’re doing in the healing department. Just to see what you’re attracted to, and what you might want to learn more about. You might want to learn about herbs and flowers and might want to start experimenting with those herbs.
You might want to go into herbal shops and say “I have Crohn’s Disease do you know anybody who has experience with that?” You’re gonna ask a lot of questions. You’re going to get a lot of answers and you're never gonna stop and you might be on a mission. I feel like you already are! Anyone who’s given anything like a disease is given is given it so that they can overcome and they can do something really wonderful with their lives. You’re not here to suffer by it. That I know.
So if anything that you get from this. Number one you will cure from this. Number two LA is gonna be the best ever, and number three is that, like, you're really going to come into where you’re going in your business, and there’s going to be people that are going to lead you that way. I mean I don’t feel like there is anything bad in this whole reading, at all. There’s not one bad card here, except for the first one. Waaaaaa’ which is your own head. You are on a new slate. When you get to California anything and everything goes, but you create it. Anything that goes into your bubble, you put it in. Just know you are in control, and go meet those people.
They’re really hard in California by the way. It takes a minute, so you're going to want to keep your friends. You're going to want to invite them to come to you. When you know that you are lonely and you’re feeling disconnected, and your not liking it, and it’s hard, call your family and friends and invite them to stay with you. They will walk you around. Whenever me and my friends move, we always fly to the state that they moved to so we can christen them, baptize them. We love on them and let them know that you are part of their world. I liked this woman’s energy and I certainly love her convenient theory that this blog will somehow turn into a financially viable business when I get to Los Angeles. I think she could read me pretty well. I tried to give her very little information about myself and she seemed to glean mostly truthful things. I think it reads as more hokey in a transcript, then when she said it, if only because she was such an entertaining character, I enjoyed listening to her.
A few things I do not agree with about her assessment. I am not usually someone who would be described as shy or quiet, perhaps she read this because I was trying not to give her much. Also, I strongly disagree with her assertion that you can cure yourself of a chronic illness through the power of positive thinking and diet. While, I absolutely agree that these things are huge factors in managing and bettering yourself, I would not have lost a great friend to cancer at the tender age of 28, if it was as simple as that. This thinking puts the onus on the person with the illness. It suggests that they did not try hard enough to cure themselves. It is something I have heard quite a bit from people in the “healing arts” community. I understand the desire to want to have control over the uncontrollable, but frankly, I find this line of thinking insulting.
That said, I generally enjoyed spending half an hour with a woman who said things like, “I love street people that are spiritual now, like I love people that, like, smoked crack and now they are shamans. I’m like yea because you they’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt. You know what I mean? I need to know warrior type people.”
I think, I do know what she means.
